Data Centre Operations Team begin hardware evaluation programme - consult with appropriate groups within OUCS

Present at ITSS Conference, June 2010, giving details and benefits of Shared Data Centre
Liaise with building contractors (Maceplus) on cabinet positioning and high level containment to ensure correct positioning of high level containment prior to the soft fit
Establish working group within OUCS (Shared Data Centre working group) to oversee fit-out and on-going running of the centre
Establish Technical Services Team to advise on the kit for the soft-fit (cabinets, power bars, structured cabling etc)
Expect UPS systems to arrive on site
First inspection of site - check fire detection and fire suppression systems are in place
Work on soft-fit tender (which will then be put out to tender over the next 8-12 weeks)
Expect delivery of security system

December 2010 - February 2011

Expect Data Centre space to be handed over to OUCS in December 2010
In consultation with TST team and Shared Data Centre Working Group produce costings for the use of rack-space - include electricity use and cooling charges
Submit the soft-fit tender (ITT) documentation to purchasing
Advertise closed tender - OUCS to invite qualified companies with Systimax installation accreditation to bid for the process
Survey of ITSS (including central IT providers) to establish day one colocation demand
Finalise communications - web site etc for services
Develop policies and procedures for services
Carry out load testing in early January 2011 prior to the main contractors leaving site (test power distribution and air handling and cooling within the centre)
If tests successful - Data Centre to be signed off and OUCS to formally take ownership
