In the past, Oxford email addresses had a ‘short’ and ‘long’ form.

• long-form (e.g. jo.bloggs@somerville.oxford.ac.uk)
• short-form (e.g. jo.bloggs@some.ox.ac.uk)

The short-form address is now the standard and the long form is no longer used. Incoming mail using long-form addresses are no longer delivered (after 2nd January 2009).
