Green IT

Computing services (OUCS) is working with the Environmental Change Institute, e-Research Centre and the Estates Department to reduce IT-related greenhouse gas emissions and costs.

OUCS is committed to ensuring its practices are in line with the environmental policies we promote. The OUCS sustainable desktop computing case study describes our approach in detail.

OUCS is working in partnership with groups across the University on other green computing initiatives including virtualisation, data centre design and sustainable procurement.

OUCS aims to continuously improve its contribution to the reducing greenhouse gas emissions and costs and will describe its progress within these web pages.
