There are two methods of configuring the Mac TSM archive client, dependent on whether your client machine is already using the TSM software for the HFS Backup Service.

If you are not already using the HFS Backup on this machine then you need to install the fullTSM Backup/Archive client package. To do this:

1. Follow the instructions for downloading the TSM client for the Mac.
2. Follow the instructions for installing the TSM client for the Mac.
3. Having installed the client software, please now look at initial considerations before using the HFS archive client.
4. Finally, please follow the instructions for using the TSM Mac client for archive & retrieve.

If you are already using TSM software to back up your machine, then you only need to install a cut-down package that does little more than prompt you for the HFS archive account name (of the form PROJECTNAME_ARCHIVE.YOURDEPT) and then installs a new application 'TSMARchive' on your Mac. To do this:

1. Ensure that you have registered for an Archive account on the HFS and that you have the account name (aka TSM nodename) to hand.
2. Download and install the OUCS TSM archive package for OS X.
3. Having installed the client software, please now look at initial considerations before using the HFS archive client.
4. Finally, please look at the information on using the HFS archive client
