Title: Printing Department
Status of Document: This document describes the service provision of the OUCS Printing Department as of July 2010.
1. Introduction
The OUCS Printer department provides a competitively priced service for short to medium print runs (1,000 - 10,000), and longer runs on request. The service is based on a Ryobi 512H two colour press.
2. Summary of OUCS's responsibilities
2.1 The service operates 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
2.2 The service is based on individual quotes for each job.
2.4 Minimum paper weight 100 g.s.m
2.5 Maximum card weight 300 microns
2.6 The following file formats are acceptable:
2.7 Printing images must be 300 dpi at size for size.
2.8 Image printing is at 175 screen.
2.9 The plates are produced using a DPX 2 computer-to-plate system.
2.10 Polyester plates are used for printing.
2.11 Pantone colours are mixed outside to get the best result.
2.12 Coating (varnishing or laminating) is available.
2.13 Finishing (folding, booklets, etc) is sent to a local specialist print company.
