Educational technology

We take pride in making our teaching as effective as possible by incorporating new technology into the learning environment. We were an early adopter of interactive whiteboards and these are used with great effect in all our teaching rooms. Our lecture rooms are outfitted to a high standard; each has a dual projection system with matrix-switching equipment to direct the required images to the correct screens, sound systems, high specification computers, hearing loops and good accessibility.

Our latest redesign and outfitting of two of our lecture rooms is an example of best practice and has been visited by many groups from around the university. Its flexible accommodation and high specification have made it a venue that is much sought after by departments that need to host IT-orientated events. It is increasingly being used by external organizations as well.

We take every opportunity to share our experience of Educational Technology and software application with other interested parties, running regular training sessions on the use of interactive whiteboards, audience response systems, and wireless classroom technology.
