Lunch and Coffee provided - but only to those who book! Tape has been the backup medium of choice for decades only due to it’s low cost per gigabyte. The relatively high cost of disk storage made tape the best choice for all but a few backup and archive applications. IT organizations learned how to work with tape for backups, and software vendors created better applications for managing the backup/restore process. Now the economics have shifted, and for many applications the scales have tipped in favour of D2D backup.
