The Shock of the Old 2 follows on from last year's conference held
in Oxford (March 2001). The Shock of the Old series seeks to explore
the impact of communication and information technologies on teaching and
learning in a traditional setting. Speakers from around the UK have been
invited to present briefing sessions, observations, and examples of innovative
practice, focusing on the contextual factors which determine the success
or otherwise of using new technologies in teaching and learning.
The conference is organized by Oxford University's Learning
Technologies Group, with sponsorship from the Institute for the Advancement of University Learning.
This event will be followed by the one-day colloquium Beyond
Chalk and Talk, to be held on the 12th April in the Oxford Union Debation
Chamber. (Visit the Beyond site for further details.)
