Getting to Oxford
Oxford is well connected by train, bus and road.
There are regular coaches between Oxford and all London airports. For information about getting to/from Heathrow and Gatwick, look at the Oxford Bus Company pages. Jetlink run services to/from Stansted and Luton. For those coming via Birmingham International Airport, take the train (times available from Railtrack's timetable).
Oxford city centre can get very congested, and parking is limited. We recommend you use the Park-&-Ride scheme (times are available here, and this map gives the location of the car parks).
The railtrack train timetable is available online. The Clarendon Laboratory is about 20 minutes on foot from the train station. A taxi will cost about £6. The 2C/2D Oxford Bus Company service picks up from the station and goes up Banbury Road (get off at Keble Road).
All coaches arrive/depart from Gloucester Green coach station, in the city centre, bout 10 minutes on foot from the Computing Laboratory. The National Express timetable is available online, and you can purchase tickets over the Web. Other online timetables are available through the Buckinghamshire Travel Information page (which covers much of Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire, as well as Bucks). Coaches between London and Oxford run throughout the day and night, and are run by the Oxford Bus Company and Stagecoach.
Getting around Oxford
Several bus companies serve Oxford, and have online timetables (the Oxford Bus Company, Stagecoach). If you are arriving by car, there is very limited parking available within the city centre, and none at the conference site. The Park & Ride scheme, run by the Oxford Bus Company, runs daily from the outskirts of the city. For those staying overnight in Oxford, you are advised to find accommodation with parking, and to use public transport to get to the conference.
