1. Introduction
The following instructions apply to to using the Eduroam wireless service with Nokia N95 mobile phones.
Note that if you're using the original firmware the device came with you may need to
upgrade your firmware to the latest version. 11.0.026, 12.0.013, 20.0.015, 21.0.16 and
30.0.015 are confirmed as working. You can check which firmware you're using by dialling
*#0000#.
First make sure the root certificate for the authority that signed your radius servers
certificate is in the root store of your phone. Oxford uses AddTrust External CA Root as a
root. The N95
doesn't actually come shipped with this certificate. To download and configure this appropriately please

| Navigate to your applications screen, select [Tools], then
[Settings]. |

| Next pick [Connection] then [access points] then [new
access point]. |
| scroll the n95 screen down |
| Choose WPA/WPA2 for the WLAN Security Mode then
select the [WLAN Security Settings] item. |
| Choose EAP as the WPA/WPA2 type, Choose WPA2 only mode and make
sure it is off, then select the [plugin settings] and press enter | ||

| In the EAP plug-in settings enable only EAP-TTLS,
disable the other entries enabled by default, then select EAP-TTLS and
press [options] then select edit from the sub menu. |
| Set the Authority Certificate to AddTrust External CA Root

| Use the N95s right of the centre button to move on the [EAPs] tab and
enable EAP-MSCHAPv2
Only. Do NOT enable mschapv2, the eap-mschap and mschapv2
options are different and the latter will not work. |
| In the settings for EAP-MSCHAPv2 provide your remote access
username. You can provide your password if you wish, or set it to prompt for
it. | ||

| Then hit back lots of times until you return to the phone's main
screen. Now you should be able to use Eduroam for all the IP based abilities the phone
offers. When connecting, check the "connecting via [...]" message is using you
expected. |
