1. Introduction

The following instructions apply to using the Eduroam wireless service on Ubuntu distributions of GNU/Linux. You may find that the Ubuntu 9.10 configuration page suits your version better. If you find an error in the instructions, please contact wireless@oucs.ox.ac.uk. If you have general questions or need other assistance, contact help@oucs.ox.ac.uk.

  1. In the top menu, click on the networks icon on the right hand side which resembles two monitors, one behind the other.
  2. From the drop down menu that appears select [eduroam] from the list of available networks.

  3. In the dialogue box that appears headed Wireless Network Key Required, enter your Remote Access account username followed by @ox.ac.uk in the Identity field. e.g. abcd1234@ox.ac.uk. Enter your Remote Access password (as set via https://register.oucs.ox.ac.uk/self/remote_access) in the Password filed. (If the dialogue box that appears is headed Wireless Network Authentication Required, please go to the Ubuntu 9.10 configuration page).

  4. Click on Login to Network
