1. Introduction

The following instructions apply to using the Eduroam wireless service on Ubuntu 9.10 distributions of GNU/Linux, but may also work on other versions. If not, you may find that the other Ubuntu configuration page suits your version better. If you find an error in the instructions, please contact wireless@oucs.ox.ac.uk. If you have general questions or need other assistance, contact help@oucs.ox.ac.uk

  1. In the top menu, click on the networks icon on the right hand side which resembles a Y-shaped antenna or two monitors.
  2. From the drop down menu that appears select [eduroam] from the list of available networks

  3. In the dialogue box that appears headed Wireless Network Authentication Required, check that the settings match the figure below (if not, change them) and enter your Remote Access account details (not your SSO): your username (append @ox.ac.uk after it) e.g. abcd1234@ox.ac.uk and your remote access account password.

    Click on the Connect button.
  4. If the window labelled No Certificate Authority certificate chosen pops up, click Ignore.
