The first time you open Eudora, the
New Account Wizard starts to help
you enter information you need to use Eudora with your Nexus email account. If you
have previously used Eudora, however, you can bring up the
Wizard to add an Email Account by locating the
area near the left of the Eudora window (below) and right-clicking on the white
space below your existing
Dominant account, then selecting
[New] from the contextual menu.
The next window presents you with a range of options. You should choose
directly to advanced account setup, as otherwise, your account will
initially be set up as a POP account, which would mean all messages are deleted from
the server and only accessible on your local machine. To avoid this, after selecting
Skip directly to advanced account setup, click
You are then presented with the
Generic Properties tab below. Enter
your name as you want it to appear in any emails you send in the field next to
Real Name, and your
Email Address in the field
In the field next to
Server on the
Incoming Mail tab,
imap.nexus.ox.ac.uk once again. Below, it offers you two
IMAP. You should select
IMAP, as otherwise, your email
will no longer be accessible on the server.
When you first attempt to check your Nexus email using Eudora, you may see a certificate rejection message.
This should be signed in a chain ending with
AddTrust External CA Root.
Yes to accept the SSL Certificate. You
should be able to access your email without any further problems.
