During the Nexus upgrade you will need to change the Server Name/Outlook Web Access URL to https://legacy.nexus.ox.ac.uk Once you are migrated, you will need to change it back to https://nexus.ox.ac.uk/owa

Blackberry mobile devices can connect to Nexus using the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) and Outlook Web Access (OWA).

Once set up the connection will provide access to your email only. Calendaring and other features of Nexus will not be available when using BIS. For full access to Calendar information you will require access to the Nexus Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES).

1. Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) and Outlook Web Access (OWA)

The following information should help guide you to accessing Nexus on your Blackberry device using BIS.

On the Blackberry device:

  1. Select Setup.
  2. Select [Email Settings]:
  3. Select [Other]:
  4. Enter your Nexus email address and password and select Next.
  5. After a few minutes you will receive this.
  6. Select [I will provide settings].
  7. Select email type [Outlook Web Access], enter the link to Nexus, enter your University Single Sign-On details and your Mailbox name (as you want it to display on the device).
  8. If the option to select [Outlook Web Access] is not available on your device you can use IMAP as shown below, however, we would recommend OWA as a preference.

2. Setup for using an IMAP connection

The following information should help guide you to accessing Nexus on your Blackberry device.
  • Choose [Setup]
  • Next select [E-Mail Settings]
  • At this point a web browser is launched and takes you to your BIS setup page (may simply say Add My Existing E-Mail Account).
  • Choose [Add My Existing E-Mail Account]
  • In the Email address field, type in your Oxford username followed by @nexus.ox.ac.uk (not your email address!) e.g. oucs1234@nexus.ox.ac.uk
  • Enter your password
  • Click Next and select [Edit] to access the screen where you edit your details
  • Leave the Email account name as your Oxford username @nexus.ox.ac.uk, e.g. oucs1234@nexus.ox.ac.uk
  • In the Reply To field, type in your email address e.g. fred.blogs@oucs.ox.ac.uk
  • In the Your name field, enter your full name
  • Now choose [Go into Advanced settings]
  • Check that the Server name is imap.nexus.ox.ac.uk. Add or correct as necessary
  • Finally under the [Use SSL] select Yes
  • You have now set up your BIS connection to Nexus and should be able to view your email.
