1. Introduction
This is the Oxford Nexus cookie policy. It should not be confused with the
cookie policy of the IT Services web site or policies of other IT Services
services.
2. How we use "cookies"
A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that the Microsoft Exchange and
SharePoint (and ISA/TMG) applications place on your computer or mobile device in
order for you to interact with the services. You do not need to keep these
cookies in between your sessions of use of the services. However, if you do,
your preferences for certain user experiences may be preserved. Your browser may
be set to delete these cookies in between visits. However, the session cookies
may be needed in order to provide an adequate service during your visit/session.
The University is working with Microsoft in order to give you more options
regarding your use of cookies when using the Nexus Services.
Other than playing a role in authentication (log in), instructing the
application as to your preferences and very recent movements around the web
interface in order to adequately service your requests, data from cookies are
not used or 'remembered' by the service. We do not analyse data from cookies,
nor pass the data on (in their raw state or anonymised) to others.
Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser

3. Types of cookies we use
We use the following types of cookies:

strictly necessary cookies – these are essential in order to
enable you to move around the website and use its features, such as
accessing secure areas of the website. Without these cookies the
services you have asked for, like online application forms, cannot be
provided;

functionality cookies – these cookies allow the website to
remember choices you make and provide enhanced, more personal features.
For instance, these cookies can be used to remember changes you have
made to text size, fonts and other parts of the web pages that you can
customise. They may also be used to provide services you have asked for,
such as watching a video or commenting on a blog. The information these
cookies collect may be anonymised and they cannot track your browsing
activity on other websites.
4. Specific cookies we use
All of the Nexus Service cookies are set by our applications and are known as
"first party cookies". No "third party cookies" are used. The tables below
identify the cookies we use and explain the purposes for which they are used.
This information is, as yet, incomplete. Accordingly, we may update the
information contained in this section from time to time.
