The IT Services department occasionally recruits part-time casual staff to cover various duties at its Help Centre at 13 Banbury Road. These positions are open members of the University of Oxford .
The working hours are variable, and typically range from 2 to 10 hours a week during normal office hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm). You will be responsible to the Help Centre Deputy Manager for the following duties:

Following your informal interview, you will be asked to attend a number of training sessions. Upon successful completion of training, you will have the option of filling in for vacancies on the current rota, which runs for one academic term. At the start of the next rota you can have a weekly two-hour slot with the option of taking additional slots when vacancies arise due to staff absence or illness.
You will initially be paid at the rate of £10.23 per hour. When you have completed a total of 60 hours work (including training hours), and IT Services are satisfied with your performance, your hourly rate will rise to £11.84 per hour. Both these rates are augmented by an additional 17.1% in lieu of holiday entitlements as stipulated in the Working Time Regulations 1998. During the probationary period, both parties will be subject to one week's notice of termination, after which it will increase to two weeks' notice.
A short coffee break may be taken during a shift of more than 3 hours. There is no meal break.
