Software Licensing Group March 2007

During March 2007 a new group was established to monitor the use of the software licensing budget, under the terms of reference below, members of the group are:

Mike Giles (MPLS Division)

David Popplewell (Medical Sciences Division)

Carol Leonard (Social Sciences Division)

Colin Connolly (Humanities Division)

Sarah Lawson (ITSS)

Richard Saxton (OUCS Software Licensing)

Terms of Reference

  • consider current central software license agreements
  • consider renewals as appropriate
  • consider possible new agreements and cancelling existing ones
  • monitoring the central software license budget looking at the existing SLD for the central service offered by OUCS
  • outlining future developments of the service in line with divisional wishes (if funded accordingly)

An initial meeting of this group has been able to consider the various consultations regarding the renewal of license agreements that expire during 2007. The findings of the group follow:
