The above products will be available form the Computing Services Shop within the next few days. We await the arrival of the Windows versions of Creative Suite Design Premium, Illustrator and Dreamweaver. Creative Suite Web Standard in both Mac and Windows versions is also awaited.
3. Microsoft New Products Update
Microsoft have launched new versions of many of their products over recent weeks, the Computing Services Shop can now supply Colleges and Departments with:
Sharepoint Server 2007 (Standard and Enterprise)
Sharepoint Server Search Standard
Microsoft Vista Enterprise is being distributed via IT Support Staff, this is a trial distribution service with OUCS providing the KMS (Key Management Server) that is needed for the regular authentication of the Vista Enterprise product. Full details of this have been distributed to IT Support Staff and can be found within the ITSS Wiki.
Note that the initial distribution was for Vista Business, however the Campus Agreement has now been extended to allow the distribution of Vista Enterprise.
"Work at Home" copies of Windows Vista and Office 2007 are on order form Microsoft, these will be available from the Computing Services Shop as soon as they arrive. If your University card describes you as 'College Staff', 'University Staff' or 'Congregation' you are entitled to use one copy of Office 2007 and/or Windows Vista Upgrade on your own computer wherever that may be, for the continuation of your academic-related work at home, provided that you install the copy using "work at home" media obtained from the Computing Services Shop.
4. Software Agreements
Latest information regarding our renewal arrangements for SAS, SPSS, Novell Netware, Novell Zenworks and Endnote was published in the Easter 2007 edition of Software News
5. Software Licensing from OUCS
Software licensing is looked after by the Shop, Software Licensing and Media Services section of the TSS group within OUCS.
Please direct queries relating to licensing issues via email to software@oucs.ox.ac.uk counter service sales issues to shop@oucs.ox.ac.uk and online sales issues to shop@oucs.ox.ac.uk all of which are serviced by the Request Tracker system at OUCS.
Information relating to software products and licences is sent via email to all registered IT Support Staff and to the software-announce mailing list.
