What people have said about us...

Many organisations have held successful events in the Thames Suite. Here is what some of them have said:

Could you please pass on my sincere thanks to all at OUCS who helped organise the Physics Masterclass computing practical on Monday and Tuesday of last week. The day went down extremely well with the students and their teachers, who had a really good time as well -- as learning lots about physics.

Thank you for looking after us so well - your help is very much appreciated!

Alan Barr, Physics Department 2009

We booked OUCS for a one day event in July 2008. Very few venues could have offered us the facilities required, which included a large plenary space with adjacent breakout computer rooms to accommodate over fifty delegates, as well as a staffed reception, and nearby refreshment and dining areas. The IT and AV services were excellent, including friendly and responsive support staff who attended to our every need. As well as accommodating our request to pre-install non-standard software on over 50 PCs, OUCS staff were on-hand to assist with any support issues on the day - everything from showing presenters how to use the wireless microphones to diagnosing and troubleshooting technical support requirements.

The administration of OUCS was second to none. Absolutely everything was thought of and taken care of for us at the planning stage, and then executed with goodwill and almost supernatural efficiency on the day itself. An absolute boon for us as event organisers, but even the delegates took the time and trouble to praise OUCS staff and event organisation. Who could ask for more?

Just a note to say thank you for the excellent support Janet and I received yesterday; the organisation of the event was flawless and we were made to feel very welcome and confident that everything would run smoothly. Could you please pass our thanks to everyone who was involved.

Being a librarian often in search of a training room, I find that the OUCS Thames Suite offers excellent facilities and services for training in electronic resources and IT.

There is usually a choice of rooms to suit small as well large classes of up to 40 people. All rooms are equipped to a high standard with good PCs, smartboads, data projection, microphones, etc. Should there be a technical problem, help is quickly at hand.

Above all, I find the administrative help, from the start of the booking to returning keys of the training room, very supportive indeed. It all saves time and looks professional to boot.

UK Serials Group has been using the excellent facilities of the Thames Suite for its one-day seminars since 2005. The venue offers UKSG exactly what it needs: a convenient city-centre location · a friendly welcome with information at Reception · a compact venue offering discrete yet easily accessible areas for registration, refreshments/lunch and the seminar itself · good catering · presentation/computer facilities in a comfortable room which allows UKSG to accommodate up to 30 people for interactive hands-on sessions. These factors have certainly contributed to the success of the events UKSG has held here.

I book the Thames Suite to deliver some of our online activities to groups of students. The facilities mean that I can take group sizes of between 10 to 40 students and organise them to work individually, in pairs or in small groups. The nice thing about using the Thames Suite is that you feel that you are walking into a modern facility, where you can get technical support when you press the wrong button and still feel you have the privacy of your own teaching facility.

Both I and the workshop delegates were impressed with the facilities in the Isis room

The layout of the room and the facilities within it are very versatile and impressive.

In particular the ability to quickly change the delegate facilities from discussion to workstaion with internet access is of real benefit to training sessions where a mix of activities is required.

The presentation facilities are of the highest level and the optional use of up to three screens means that delegates are able to view proceedings easily from anywhere in the room.
