Harvey, a friend of Gurney's who was reported missing in August 1916 but was later known to have been taken prisoner. Included in 'War's Embers' (1919). Found in a small green notebook used by Gurney during July-August 1918. The first stanza on the left hand page is from an unpublished poem. |
