| Title | Ypres - Minsterworth |
| Notes | Manuscript in pencil in Ivor Gurney's hand. This is a fair copy after a pencil draft found in the black manuscript notebook 64.5.7. A typed version entitled 'Robecq - Minsterworth' also exists with a changed to line 19. Minsterworth was there the Harvey, friends of Gurney's, lived. The poem is dedicated to Harvey, who was reported missing in August 1916 but was later known to have been taken prisoner. The poem was included, as 'Robecq - Minsterworth', in 'War's Embers' (1919). Found in a burgundy notebook containing fair copies of poems made by Gurney. It appears to have been compiled primarily in 1918. |
