Isaac Rosenberg: Enlistment
He returned in March 1915, and enlisted in the 12th Suffolk Regiment (Bantam Battalion) in late October of that year. This was a regiment for men under 5 foot 3 inches in height. He was later transfered to the 11th Battalion, the King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment (KORL), and sent to the Somme region in June 1916.
This pathway gives a brief overview of some of Isaac Rosenberg's poetry and letters, and some of the images that might have inspired him during his time spent in France from the summer of 1916 until his death on 1st April, 1918.
