Find Army Service Records: Gallantry
Page details
Gallantry
You can search the official newspaper of the British state The LONDON GAZETTE for awards for gallantry, mentions in despatches, commissions and honours. You can search the Gazette with just a name. It is a long process but you may find your man if he was promoted as an officer or won one of these awards. (During the Second World War the papers relating to recommendations for awards were lost).
