| Title | Jack Morten, Photographs of wounded soldiers and their nurses |
| Notes | The soldiers had been invited to the home of R.H. Nield a local businessman; he was a piano merchant in Stockport. Five of the ladies/girls in the photo are his daughters. They are photographed in the garden. Phyllis Nield married, in 1925, Jack Morten who wrote letters from the War which were published as I remain Your Son, Jack. This book is now out of print. Editor's Comment: Note the Scout badge (a Fleur-de-Lys with bar below) on the lower right sleeve of the man seated on the left of the first photograph. Pte. 2393 John Clarke Morten, 1/7th Bn. Manchester Regiment, was commissioned Second Lieutenant and later attached to the Royal Air Force. |
