| Title | Letter from Dr W.R. Blore M.C. RAMC |
| Notes | This is an extract from a photocopy of a letter from Dr W.R. Blore M.C. RAMC sent on 7th March 1916, from Egypt. It describes a photo which is enclosed, of Dr Blore outside his dugout at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli in 1915. That dugout was sketched in his letter of 14th October. In this letter he mentions the chair in the photo which was actually shipped over from England in his luggage, and which was evacuated to Egypt. Blore also describes his hair-cut and his uniform. Also part of this collection are the photograph described here, and the sketch from the earlier letter as well as all Blore's letters home, his notebooks from his service as a doctor at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli, and on the Western Front - as well as his sleeping bag and many other artefacts. |
