| Title | U.S. Army 79th Division order for the Armistice |
| Notes | This is the copy of the Armistice order that my grandfather, Corporal Oscar Lubchansky of the 79th Division, AEF, typed out in his Battalion PC at Ville Devant Chaumont in the Lorraine. Insite is the code name for the 313th Infantry Regiment. Incited is the 2nd Battalion. His handwritten note on the back reads: We received this orders [sic] at 10:30 A.M. Nov 11. I guided accompanied Capt. Burgwin Bn. Commander to the advanced P.C. before Moirey. Our artillery were raising Hell all the while. At 11 A.M. on the dot, firing ceased. Oscar. And, Keep this safe for me as I want to have it framed. |
