| Notes | Leter written to Beatrice describing his wounds and illness, from which he was soon to die. It is incorrectly dated 1917. Found with his son's belongings in 1987. Editor's Comment: Letter written on Y.M.C.A. headed notepaper: 'On Active Service With the British Expeditionary Force'. His name is erroneously spelt 'Bromwick' on his medal card, held by the National Archives. Private 356170 Albert J. Bromwich, 2nd Battalion Highland Light Infantry, died of wounds 10th April 1918. The son of Oliver and Sarah Bromwich, of Two Mile Hill, Kingswood, Bristol, and husband of Beatrice Bromwich, of 533, Bath Rd., Brislington, Bristol, he is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery. |
