| Title | German troops at the outskirts of Helsinki |
| Notes | This photo has a official number, probably from a military photo archive. It is among many private photos of a collection. Handed down by a family to the archive of Infobalt e.V., a non-commercial organisation in Germany dealing with Baltic States topics. The Grandfather of the family, Erwin Biesenbach, was a higher ranked officer who owned a camera. He had to manage transportation and supply for the army. His photo collection is about 200 images from the Eastern Front. Starting from eastern Prussia 1914/1915 to Finland 1918. The location of the train stop in the photo was found due a collective research on flickr where a member has uploaded a video clip showing the same scene (documentary of a finish tv channel) http://www.flickr.com/photos/65817306@N00/56972485/ |
