SS Leersum
The Society’s Hon. Agent at Scarborough, Mr WH Ellis, was personally
presented by the skipper of the Dutch ss Leersum with the boats in which the
crew escaped when their ship had been blown up by a German mine, but Mr Ellis
generously made a donation to the Society’s funds of £10, resulting from the
sale of the boats.
