Italian steamer 'Quarnero'
When the Italian steamer Quarnero was torpedoed near Portreath, Cornwall, on
March 4, Captain WJ Cock, the Society’s Hon. Agent, went out himself in a
small boat, accompanied by two other men, and guided the ship’s two
lifeboats, containing 32, to safe landing places. This action, which is not
necessarily comprised in the duties of a Hon. Agent, was duly commended by
the Committee.
