NotesA short newspaper cutting reporting the death of Captain James Cullen, a Hull trawler skipper, at the age of 77, with brief details of some of his achievements during the war, accompanied by a longer cutting dating from just after the end of the First World War, giving fuller details. While commanding the trawler Ben Lawes, Cullen was responsible for sinking two German submarines. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross with Bar, and a number of other decorations. Part of a collection relating to James Cullen.
