| Title | Dux Prize |
| Notes | William Binning won the Dux Prize at school and as his prize he chose a copy of Robert Burns' poetry. Many poems are marked up in pencil. One of great significance to him was It is na, Jean, Thy Bonnie Face. His girlfriend was Jane Kelso, also known as Jean or Jeannie. She too had been a pupil at the school and was the Dux of the school in 1914. It is possible that he read these poems whilst in France. 2nd Lieutenant William B. Binning (1896 - 1916), Scottish Rifles 9th Div. Machine Gun Corps, 28th Bn. |
